About
Imagine Museum Glass Art

We have created educational tours about our collection of contemporary glass art as well as engaging and fun tours for the entire family. Through 2022 we will be offering “zoom” talks with our artists for our general audience and private tours of current and opening exhibitions for our members and special groups.

The contemporary glass art movement engages artists from all over the world. The Imagine Museum collection includes over 240 artists, representing 20 countries.

As you walk through our St. Pete art museum, Imagine Museum, you will be able to enjoy over 450 pieces of museum quality contemporary glass art. The beauty, the creativity, and the technical skill of artists choosing to work with the material of glass will amaze and delight you. Our goal is to inspire, uplift and educate you about the amazing attributes of such a simple material, and how artists take this material to a majestic state of transcendence.

During the 1960s in America, artists began to experiment with the material of glass outside of the factory settings and inside their own studios. They experimented, invented, and innovated unique ways to heat, bend, pour, cast, and mold glass particles to create sculptures never before imagined in the material of glass. The Imagine Museum is one of the first museums in the United States solely focused on the contemporary glass art movement, and sharing the virtuosity of the artists who established this movement and those working within the movement today.
